Front hubs

I'm doing a massive front brake upgrade on the EK...EJ drums...
Does the hub go behind what appears to be a inner retaining plate? Does the gold colour retainer go behind the plate as per the pic...
Also when you line up and push the hub on do you have to use the nut on the stub axle to push it all the way on?

Stewart it looks like that hub has to go in further.
I usually do the nut up until it's pushed the hub all the way home. The hub will be hard to turn.
Then I back the nut off until the hub turns freely.
Make sure you grease the bearings properly forcing the grease through the bearing. I put some grease in the palm of my hand and drag the bearing across ways into the grease pushing it through.

When in trouble ring Luis!
I learnt something new today...
1. Remove seal assembly from hub and press onto back of spindle.
2. Remove inner wheel bearing from hub and press onto spindle. You will need to get some hollow steel tube and gently tap the bearing into place.
3. The new cups stay in the hub.
4. Place rest of hub onto spindle and seat it onto inner bearing.
5. Insert outer wheel bearing. May need to gently tap this onto spindle too.
6. Don't forget the hex slotted washer.
7. Screw the nut on.
8. Dont forget the split pin.
10 minutes tops.
