Dave,

Photos of the FB/EK sedan assembly below - excuse my crappy photography

Big cutoff black wire is positive, connects to the rear wiring loom. Small black wire with the brass ring provides the earth connection back through the bumper bar. I can dig you out the original parts numbers if you need em, though there is around a dozen parts and the descriptions are verbose.

Cheers,
Harv.

So when you pay the 80 odd bucks for the Rare's ones, what do you actually get?

According to the Rares site, $88 buys you this:

Looks like the lamp holders and pig-tails are not included.

yeah thats what happens you get the plastic lenses with the metal ring that the globe holder pushes into and the steel earth strap. problem is i think the guy who owned my car previously used an aftermarket one.the globe holders arn't on the loom. the photos will really help me ,so thanks at least i know what im looking for. :D :D :D

Dave,

From memory, the globe holders are the same ones as the gauge cluster lamps (I could be wrong though) - if someone has an old harness, they may not have the license plate lamps but will probably have 1/2 a dozen gauge lamps hanging off the spaghetti.

Cheers,
Harv.

Good post!

I’ll be scavenging an old harness to see if I can find some globe holders in the dash area for the rear number plate lights

If you get stuck for some, let me know. I've go a mangy old harness here that has made several sacrifices. Happy to cut a couple of dash globe holders off and mail to you.

Cheers,
Harv

Yes I can prolly help out too Drew bit closer to home. Same ones used to illuminate the number plate in the commercial spare wheel door if I'm not mistook.

The pics of the lenses look like the sedan, Drew has a wagon. I thought the lenses and maybe globe holders are different?
