Just an opinion on a wiring harness on e-bay please!

I am doing a chev 350 turbo 700 transplant into my fb wagon and wondered if this wiring harness would be upto the job?
My last wiring job cost me $1200 made from scratch, ouch

Trev,
Now lets see
Ignition-Coil wire or resistance wire,wipers,blinkers,fuel guage,temperature,oil,electric pump(if you run one),and reverse lights.
Headlights plus tail lights.
Stop lights.
Demister and radio, interior
Electric fan for cooling (a possibility).
Cables for alternator.
Thats all you will need unless your going crazy with accessories.
Wiring cars is not allways easy especially if you dont know what you are doing.
This kit seems ok and you can allways add stuff later but get it wrong and a fireworks display is a possibility! Most car wiring is switched with the positve side but things like a horn or interior lights can be swithed on the ground side! Confusing it can be so it pays to engage someone who knows.

Trev. Much better getting a custom harness made. Turbo 700 is a fully electronic transmission which requires the original computer to operate. The only real way to wire a computer for your application is by someone who is in the know. I can recommend someone if needed. Regards, Steve

Correct,
But if the turbo 700is from a VN Commodore then it is as per normal with a torque converter lock up only. This was the last of the manual hydraulic change before the electronic version. So trev what have you got?

I herd that about the VN 700's so I am going for one of these, Haven't got one yet so Ill be asking questions before making the wrong purchases.
I do have the 350 though, it came out of a pontiac firebird 68 convertable.

One good trick when playing with wiring is to test it with a cheap battery charger instead of hooking up the battery and turning all your handiwork into charcoal !
If there is a fault , the cheap battery charger wont have the guts to burn your wiring out but it has enough grunt to test the circuit.

Blacky I do that quite a bit when wiring, and it does save a lot of frustration at the connection end when that last one has to be tested. There is nothing worse than nuking a new aftermarket computer because of a simple silly short or the going off the wrong wiring diagram.

Trev we got my old man the Aussie AutoLoom from Geelong for his Cusso, bit dearer than what you are looking at there. BUT he did also offer over the phone assistance on a few bits dad had trouble with and we had it 2 days after ordering it. Not too mention everything is marked as my dad isn't the best when it comes to wiring, yes there are extra's tht may never get used but they do allow for change of plans down the track.
ie elec windows aerial, heating and cooling etc...
Guess what I'm saying is you get what you pay for and in the end its your choice.

Hey Brett, I was thinking along the same line as you (you get what you pay for) it's just too cheep to risk it (maybe if it cost $350 I would feel a bit better about the quallity). No after sales service is a big factor aswell !
I think the Aussie Autoloom sounds the goods

I got my loom for the FE from Airride, $400, delivered quickly and good backup advice if you can catch Glenn. Plenty of extras in the loom and the wires are all marked, it took a little while, but I installed it all myself.

Thanks Stinky, would that be the $425 one or the $445? Obviosly gone up in price now but still a good price!

Hmmm, neither actually, I just had a closer look. The kit I got has the larger style fuses and I am quite sure it has an 18 fuse panel.
Some other blokes from the FE/FC forum have used his kits too.
