3 Speed synchro

I know this has been dicscussed before. But this was not answered specifically.
So a question for the experienced amongst the group.
Does a 3 speed synchro box behind a red motor fit without any modifications to the tunnel? If it touches is there much to be altered?
All the tunnel or just one side?
I hope someone has done this and can help me before I start to cut anything.

it won't go straight in, you can do minimum work but it's not neat
