Rear Window Surround

I have a standard EK (61) with just the rubber trim and no steel / stainless trim. Front screen has steel (painted) surround that is body colour.
As I don't want to replace the rear screen just yet (or pull it out) has anyone fitted a rear surround by cutting off the section that usually goes into the rubbers... and then just glue / screw fix in place...?
Cheers Maiki

I just got it after reading it for the 3rd time
Pretty sure you mean cutting the part of the stainless trim, that usually goes inside the rubber and holds it in place, off?
If so I have never heard of it being done before.
Might be easier to put the special rubber in with the stainless fitted the rite way.

pretty sure i know what yor talking about, removing from the stainless the part that inserts into the rubber if so yes i've done it, used srews where they normally would go and a small amount of sikflex to hold it on
