Hi All

After some advice on painting my dash in my ute. The dash has a lot of crows feet and some surface rust, so I am going to paint it.

From what I can see reading the threads on this forum Clinker Grey is the colour. I assume with some flattener.
Has anyone painted their dash with the screen in? This is what I am planning. I am in two minds one is to get some spray cans made up to minimise the over spray the other is to use my small gravity gun.
I assume I will have to use acrylic as the gray paint is the original?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Gazza

You'll need to strip it to bare metal unless you want the crows feet back again.

The paint is not to bad within an inch or so of the screen, may be OK but will have to rub the rest right back.

Yeah I re-painted my dash with the screen in. Just mask the screen, rubber & surrounding dash area with a few coats of masking tape & paper (do this thick!) then paint strip the dash, scrape off as much as you can the out with the gig grit paper and rub rub rub..once finished hit it all with wet 'n' dry and then re-mask, prime & paint. :D
