Hi all, recently got a 1960 two tone green FB. I'm kind of being overwhelmed with the jobs that have to be done (mainly to the interior and dash) and as a 17 year old i lack a bit ( a lot) of experience. Being in WA i notice there arnt any FB clubs and im just wondering the best way to meet other people with Fb's who can share there wizdom with me. Will endevour to get some pics up in the next few days; shes a beauty, no rust what-so-eva and as far as originals go its all in pretty damn good condition.

Oh and the guy I bought it off had it repainted and took the side "special" and star badges off also removing the clips that held them in place. Somewhere in the cars travels these clips have gone AWOL and although he gave me some new star badges in packaging with clips i cant seem to find a substitute for the rest of the badges... is there anything that someone can recomend?... otherwise im doomed to gave big black holes gaping out of the side of my car. not a pretty sight.

Welcome to the forum Mason, I think you and AUSTmod should both join the WA FE/FC Car Club. They cater for FB/EK models and are a good bunch of people. You will get all the advice you need - and its all for free ! You also get a club member discount at various businesses around town , so you can usually save the cost of membership and then some when you buy parts.

thanks blacky, will definately look into it. (aust)mod- for the sake of not reveiling your identity - u gotta come round so we can compare our beasts and hopefully u can identify the many parts i have laying around that i have no idea what there for.

With respect to your badge issues - I would seriously suggest you wait until you get some club input before mounting them. From memory, if they are anything like EK badges etc., these clips are designed to attach, not detach.
They should be sprung to "bite" onto the tags and pins.
You may wish to coat underside (under fender, inside door panels etc) surfaces with fishoil or something similar - definately not silicone sealants - I have found butyl-mastic (what is used to seal your windscreens) quite effective for sealing out the elements - particularly if you intend to visit areas where salt and sand may enter the crevices and gaps.
