rotisserie wheels
rotisserie wheels
Hello,
I am thinking about building a rotisserie, and need some advice on wheel load rating.
If I build one to take 900kg. and I have 8 wheels, does this mean each wheel has to take 900/8kg = 112.5kg each since the load of 900kg plus rotisserie weight?
so 112.5kg + weight of rotisserie / number of wheels?
caster wheels are bloody expensive... any one know a good source of cheap/ good wheels?
Cheers
Ed

On mine I have those pumped up tyres you can get from Bunnings or SuperCheap, similar to removalists trolleys etc. (you know the ones touch smaller then a wheel barrow wheel)

You can get rated and non rated castor wheels , the rated ones are dear .
Go for a decent size non rated one , they will handle the weight ok .

Yep no problems with the moving on the wheels. It also comes down to our heavy your rotisserie will be. The cars themselves aren't that heavy when they are a bare shell.Ed wrote:Is it easy to manouvre around?

Re: rotisserie wheels
Have 8 wheels from old hospital beds on mine , 200 diam and swivel . Flash stainless centres just like chromies
Try your local hospitals maintainence crew . Cold block on a Friday arvo goes a long way.

I would rather work on a Morris 1100 than use a computer !!!!!!

Re: rotisserie wheels
Assuming the weight is distributed exactly evenly between them, which probably wont be the case depending on the designEd wrote:Hello,
