Hi everyone,
This one has got me stumped. How to people paint bonnet hinge springs? I guess they need to be fully tensioned so you can paint them properly. Looking for a how-to, ideas and suggestions on people experiences...
Many thanks.

That's a good question. I went out and had a look at mine and noticed that they tension when you shut the bonnet.
I dunno..........you could always put the bonnet on (when the engines still out ), and spray them when they're on

hang them from something solid , wrap a good piece of wire around the bottom and hang a sandbag off 'em

Best paint I've found to use Stewart, is a plastic base paint, like the one you dip your spanners and screwdrivers in. Very flexible and won't peel and hardy.
Or get some 2 pak with flex flow added to it, The same product they paint truck tarps with.
BUT I haven't tried the Por15 or KBS paint system, I'm sought of thinking that might do the trick also.

We used to use enamel and put a bit of Castor oil in it to make it flexible - that was before you could buy all this new fancy stuff
