Hi I am researching what I need in the way of diffs for a toyota V8 auto setup in an EK sedan . What is the consensus of opinion out there?

drive steady and the banjo will be fine :) if you want to play :twisted: borg warner or 9" both have there pluses and minuses

I thought about doing this conversion myself... Got the motor, box, bell housing etc sitting in the shed ready to go...

I wouldnt worry about a 9 inch unless you were going to stick a blower on it. The 1uz motors have more of a developing power curve and less low down torque so stresses on your drivetrain arent that great. I'd go with a Borg Warner, if your going to punish it go 4 pinion just to be on the safe side.

or keep the Jappa theme going and whack a Skyline or Hilux diff in it - theres a few over this way that have gone down that road.

hilux = limited ratios and for what they are are quite expensive aswell
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

I thought Hilux had lots of ratios.
Just did a serch and found these (and shit loads more), not all were available in Aussie cars thou.

Hilux diffs are common as bums over here - and you dont need to narrow 'em :wink:

Mine cost a hundred bucks off ebay including standard wheels and handbrake cables.

ratios are all still quite close and good for drag racing type aplications if that's what you want, only going on stuff i've read re: not cheap over here

thanks for all that gents , well I have a good Hr so I might as well give it a try . I have some pics of my car but can't figure out how to put them on , any advice on that?
