Post by vmx-mxr »

For you guys looking for acid, forget it !

If you are after information on Volvo's LSD I think I may have stumbled onto something quite handy while looking for something else.

Let me know what you think.

From those in the know - are they al the same as far as width goes?

I have one here that I was gunna use in a project which was abandoned.

Disc brakes and strong as buggery.

Its 1400mm face to face.It came out of an 84 station wagon.

Dunno if its a limo or not.Ive never taken the hat off.

Its been sitting out side for a few years now,so the brakes need a major service, but it can be had cheap by anyone who wants it.

Real cheap.....

The Volvo/Dana diffs are a strong and cheap but the LSD centres are expensive. PURPL8 and another SA car (blown 6 burnout pano) both use them with no breakages that I have heard of.
There is a cheaper aftermarket LSD solution from 4WD Systems, it essentially locks the diff all the time and unlocks it for corners etc.

so if i read right the 740 model would only have the dana lsd 3 in it if it was ordered as an option .dose that sound about right .next thing dose any body know if that option would be on the id plate under the bonnet in a volvo .plus stinky those lokkars are good same idear as the lock rights we had one in the vitara we had excellent in the bush but you have to be eighther power on or power off going into corner's or they break in or out of locking with a huge (BANG)you think your arse end is laying on the road frightens the s@!t out of you .you learn how to drive with them real quick.
