Welcome Jarrod, Looks like a good buy to me.
My suggestion would be to learn how to weld, it's all fixable

.
Keep the pic's coming, ask as many questions as you want and good luck

Welcome aboard Jarrod
As I'm sure you're aware there is stacks of knowledge on here.
Ask lots of questions, there's bound to be someone that can answer them.
My suggestion would be to first remove the rust

G,day Jarrod , welcome to the Forum, looks like a good start , my advice is start with one area to repair and finish that one off before moving on to the next piece

and ask lots of questions.

Good on you Jarrod for taking on a project that will not only be a great lot of fun to drive..but a great learning tool for you to get proficient with learning the fine art of keeping it on the road for decades to come.

yaayyyyyy another person who didn't buy a commodore with a fart cannon! you're already cool if you have one of these
You'll have a fair amount of time fixing rust by the looks of it, so no rush deciding what to do with it i reckon. Chrome looks a shitload better than mine, so im already jealous.
But anyway...customise it

it's a first car and i know you want girls to look at you in it, so make it yours

Browse through the My FB EK section and you might get a few ideas
Have fun, and everyone here is only too happy to help

Go nostalgia Jarrod! Hot grey motor, lowered with big and little chromies, Tasmans or Hustlers.

Or restored if you want the least hassle and expense option. But it's up to you. What kind of car appeals to you?
Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Welcome!
Best advice that I can give is make sure you have a steady job. They always need money poured into them but dont give up, try do most of it yourself and you can learn a long the way.
Cheers
