Evening all,

I am searching for any info you guys may have in regards to carburettor choice, jet sizes and linkage set-ups to suit a twin carb manifold on the 138 Grey.

I have a collection of carbs to choose from:
4 x BXUV-2
2 x BXV-2
1 x BXOV-1

We were thinking the BXUV-2 we would be the logical choice, as we have four to make two good ones, but if its a bad move please let us know!

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt

Hey Matt,

You should use two standard grey motor carbs - the Stromberg BVOX 1 which has the 1 & 1/32 venturi. Red motor Strombergs are too big - bad move to use these.

Is it a stock grey motor? If so, you should use #48 main jets. If it's a warm or hot grey then the #51s might be OK. I had a professional carb outfit do my triples recently and they said they have done plenty of twin grey set ups using the stock #51 jets.

Some guys have venturi sleeves fitted to twins. I had these installed in my triples as they are necessary. Probably not necessary for twins on a warm grey.

Linkages are available through redline - hardiman.

Cheers,

Andrew
