Another question by me- Custom grill vs air flow.

Hey everyone,

Since long before my ute was even remotely close to being on the road i knew i wanted to do a custom grill. Since seeing a few on here and in rod rags i think i'd like to do the toothy looking over-rider style grill.
But before i go and start measuring things i'm just wondering if my stock grey setup would still get enough air flowing over the radiator? Anyone had any experiences with such a matter?
Thank, Ryan

You'd have to be towing the Trojan horse up mount everest for it to overheat
should be fine

 Fair enough Jimmy, point taken! That's what i wanted to hear really, thanks. Now to find 5 more over-riders....

Paul has one on his EK with red motor, and he hasn't mentioned overheating problems related to that. she'll be right

Famous last words!! Does Paul run a stock radiator setup also?

Are you talking from experience Jimmy?

I would think it's had an upgrade, Trev 8) .

Not experience, just thinking about the aerodynamics of it.
Blunt objects like overriders would create a wake of low pressure vacuum behind them (which wouldn't be a very large wake) before a majority of the air would converge again before going through the radiator, so it shouldn't change much theoretically.
An upgrade certainly wouldn't hurt though-even just an EK/EJ auto radiator to keep it looking original.

Trev: I've just done some quick searching of the forum and, as i suspected, said 'Paul' would definitely have a somewhat altered radiator
Jimmy: But i do like the sound of those theoretics! <-------spell check is trying to tell me that this is not a real word, so i think i'll copyright it.
