Welcome POP, pretty sure the ute at the nats with the cross flow head was the same one at the Nowra nats 7 years ago, if so I'm sure the story goes that he saw it (the head) for sale for $1000, rang the number and was told the add was a mistake, it was $10,000 so he bought it anyway  .

what trev said is the numbers you commonly hear, don't know if that includes the parts that would be have to have items to go with it such as rocker cover, inlet, exhaust and i'm guessing rocker gear etc
you don't often see them in use or for sale so if you can afford it i'de say grab it

Sit down POP... $10,000 for the head, sideplate, angle drive distributor, rocker cover, intake manifold & pushrods. Then you need the carbs and the custom exhaust manifold. If you were at the Nationals you would have seen Graham Allbon's crossflow. Graham told me about 10 years ago that complete running crossflow equipped grey motors were fetching then around $15,000.

There is a guy in Queensland called Rod Scheffler who is making reproduction crossflow heads for $5,500 for just the bare head (no machining, valves seats or guides). He was planning on making the whole kit and having them on sale as of December last year.

Thanks guys for your comments. Got a bit of an idea now. Old mates got tha full motor, but doesn't want to part with it [yet]. Also been talking around & there might be another on the mid north coast. If either comes up & I can't afford , then you guys will get the first offer.......thanks again..pop.
