Thanks Mick...
These names bought back fond memories..
When I was young my Parent's lived in Winmalee in the Mountains and our house was at the end of a valley that filtered the sound from Castlereagh Drag strip..you could walk out the back yard and hear even the announcement on their PA as to who was about to race next, 8) 8) and then hear the roar of the race that followed! VERY 8) !
Do you remember the PR Performance 'Panic' Torana steel bodied Funny Car that was driven by Graham Cowin?
It used to do "Flame Burnouts"!! where they used to pour petrol on the track for him to do his burn out on and light it! Wild times indeed! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Thanks Mick, looks like a great day out amongst some awesome Aussie History.

What's the straight axle car above the Fiat chassis on the hoist?

yes i remember the panic torana and there were quite a few pics of it as people were invited to bring along old pics, videos and memrobillia
what felt kool was talking to somebody there who never went to the old castlereagh track and asked if i'de been there and where it was, the hall where the reunion was held was sorta just round the corner from where the track was i didn't really think about it till i told him by actually even raced on the track only in street cars but it was something that alot couldn't say they had done i raced on the track in a HK 327 monaro, a HQ kingswood and a wate for it gemini  but it was a quickish one high 14's
it's my mate shane's he started it years ago chopped FJ gasser thought i had a better pic but this will have to do

I too raced there..In my EJ...very high ET's
My HK Prem 307
and many road bikes & I 750/4 powered Drag bike..
even did the strip in a DT 175 Suzuki..
My favorite memories are of the wild wheelsanders like the "Mechanical Ape" Volkswagen Kombi & the "Strip Tripper" FC Holden Wagon (until he rolled it & it came back as a Ute!), I was also there for Jim Reed's first 6 second pass.
