Has anyone got any advice about this stuff :? I was going to use it on my extractors but a mate told me it will lead to rusting them out. So I read what I could on the subject and got a lot of conflicting reports, does anyone run this on they're extractors and has anyone had problems?

I'd rather trust you guys than what I read on a Googled webpage.

Used it many years ago, It could only aid in rusting out the headers if it trapped moisture.

I had no problems with it for the two years I had the car.

No experience here but you would think any moisture would dry out pretty quickly with the heat of the extractors? Trev 8) .

try and get some of the old asbestos stuff,
that is the go, and you can find rolls of new asbectos tape in old guys sheds
come garage sale time.
the new stuff just doesnt seem to cut it.
we use this on the offroad VWs and they are always wet.
never seen and exhaust rust under one of these.

Hey Newman, Header tape will rust the shit out of your header's, it will also cook the carbon out of the steel and make them brittle which could lead to cracking. You could try ceramic coating the pipes, that will help with stopping heat transfer and also slow the pipes rusting away. It also can look good. Anyway hope this helps, Cheers Pat :)
