If you are using the CRS V8 HR front end with Torana rack they use a HR steering arm that has been bent to, I assume , clear the wheel rim.

thats what ive got but there hitting inside of tyre rims are standard ht cheers shane

Are you able to get a spacer made to bring the steering arms away from the wheel rim, say, 1/4 inch and then use slightly longer bolts??.

The HQ "power steering" arms are shorter than the HR style and may help with clearance issues.

There was a discussion on the various steering arms with pictures on the FE/FC Forum recently, I'll see if I can find it and post it up here.

Have always had the same problem Shane, so I get the wheels offset changed to the same as HR disc wheels to solve that problem.

From what I have been told, with the width of a HR front end if you use different length steering arms it will change the turning track of the tyers, too short and the outside tyre will toe inn and scrub out the tyre, too long and the outside tyre won't turn enough and scrub out the tyre as-well, Trev .

had my eye on a set of jelly bean mags 14x7 with 4 and a half back space. now im not shore if they will fit cheers shane.

I think they charge about $60 for the changed off-set, but sometimes you might need a new rim, depending on the condition, Trev .

Thats probably not a bad price because it would give your problem a quick fix and save time stuffing around trying to find an arm that will do the job and as Trev said, you may have steering geometry issues as well.

I run the same setup Shane HQ stubs/hubs and HT 14x5 ROH steel rims which are 4inch backspace and nothing hits. From memory there are two lenght HQ arms and i used the short ones (or was it the long ones or maybe the HR ones). The knuckle is about 20mm clear from rim edge. So 4.5 inch backspace rims should still clear

I've got HQ spindles and HR front end/steering. I'm running HR arms at the moment but im unsure what effect it has on the geometry, scrub radius etc???

So which model steering arms are preferred/best? Do i use HR or HK/T/G??

This might seem like a stupid question but.........

Are there any differences between an HD or HR cross member, upper/lower control arms, steering arms etc. If not I guess a lot of them have already gone along the way as other stubs could be fitted etc.

I have a HR front end but it's so bashed up underneath I was thinking of broadening my search to HD? Unless someone has a clean one they want to sell?

Hi Dave , HD crossmember is the same as HR and has balljoints as well so is a direct swap for a HR front end.
