I just checked the msd sheets from PPG and yes isocyanate free, good stuff !! ( I just never trust a salesman )

Another issue I faced here in Sydney was humidity and water in the compressor air lines, so I got a couple serious inline filters to catch the moisture. I suppose in SA the air is pretty dry but jut watch out for it, drain the compressor regularly.

Yes thanks Greg I’ll drain it now. Got a trap at 10 metres on advice of Steve. Another wee one on the gun. Maybe on the weekend some paint.

That’s the same plan I’m on Clay. Obviously I’m not doing enough repairs as my first bottle ran out just after the 12 months!

Happy birthday Clay. I've never been busier since I retired so enjoy the quiet times while you can....
I am also on that gas plan, managed to get a free bottle cause the first one wasn't full and then second one free on plan. I've also got a bottle I own with Gasweld. The refills are a few dollars more and amount of gas slightly less but no rent while its sitting full as my spare. Looking forward to seeing your paint adventure.

Looks like it will fit fine, although the diff pumpkin must be offset on the xp. The eye to eye clearance is spot on with 15mm clearance either side to chassis rails.

Now I’m happy the bar fits I’m continuing with the rust and paint. I’ll fit the bar when I do the lowering so I can weld some proper lugs on the housing and set body mounts to suit lower ride height.

Hi Clay,

So the XP fraud sway bar does fit ok, there is however an offset to the passenger side because the fraud tail shaft tunnel is actually in the middle of the floor so the diff is manufactured offset toward the passenger side. The FB EK tunnel is not in the true centre at the diff, in actual fact its toward the drivers side.
When I first had a diff shortened to suit my car I assumed the tail shaft was centred, it is not so I had to do it again !!!! Hard lesson that one !!!

You can see here that the diff is to the right, the sway bar still fits even with the big black 9 inch but only just !

I welded an angle bracket in the inside rail, all fits pretty good.

Thanks for the tip which I got from your thread.
Funny they don’t package it for FE to EH or HR. The diff mounting hardware suits a wider axle tube. I wouldn’t have used it in any case. I will use angle to make brackets for body and diff.

Deciding to repair rather than replace the passenger outer sill has lead me on a learning curve. I have mucked around with if trying to get a perfect metal finish, resulting in shrinking the patches which I then had to pull out with slide hammer and then a skim of bog to get things perfectly level. Probably would have been easier to just replace it but I suppose I’ve learnt some skills. I still have to sand back the filler before I apply some upol gold find finish filler and epoxy etch prime.

Finally bit the bullet and moved on to painting some 2k etch. Three coats in and a bit peely but in getting the knack sort of. I hope I got the proportions right as I found it tricky splashing a 4 litre tin in to make 150 ml of paint. I got paint up the side of the measuring cup so had you use dip stick. It was only 15C when I started but heated up the surfaces with heat gun I got on line cheap. I put in about 10% reducer and ran at 20psi. Suggestions anyone (Greg)?
I thought I’d do a few more coats and maybe block back the peel. There were a few deeper scratches in the metal. See how they work out and hopefully learn a lesson or two.
It can’t be that hard if Jase can do it. You out there Jase?

Only got one more coat if that. Gun was turned down to about 15 psi I noticed. I must have knocked it. Would it be less variable if I turned it down at the water trap and even at the compressor?
It is still 15C in the shed at 5:30pm. I put the 500 watt halogen work light on at about 1.7 metres and opened up the shed door. Pretty stinky under the carport.
Broke out the carbon filter plus particle filter plus pre filter. Need to get some latex gloves rather than use the TIG gloves.

Yes I’ll do a better job mixing next time. Sanding it is. I remember being told you can’t really work tupac but seems you can.
