No worries Thommo..
The BIG pain was the twin electric one's I put on my VG Valiant 2 Door (I owned in the mid 80's) in the rear 1/4...I had to run two drain tubes through the boot and out...a lot of work!!

There will eventually be a hole, when the rust really kicks in

I seen a few frenched, where they forget the drain hole. Then they fill with water and bugs, then nature creates its own hole. RUST
But Scotty you can always seal up that hole with Silycoon

Well it's day two of my week off work and things are still going to plan..I've done the headlight eyebrow extensions (sorry no photos of this as i did 'em before I realized I forgot to take a photo) Basically it's two bits of sheet steel with cuts for the bend-back and tack into position then 'gorilla hair' to get the shape right then bog smooth.. which I'll do when the I get the shape perfect..did this on my wagon too

.
Today is making the cardboard templates for the mustache moulds as seen here for the guard outer once I get the shape what I want it's then trace over a sheet of body steel and cut and bend...

That VF Valiant coupe was a box of S@#!T..Russell...I did a VG coupe a few years later as a custom...
Here's where I'm up to..came in for lunch ( I have to force myself to eat as I can get carried away having fun

)...
I was going to make both the inner & outer and join them together before welding them to the car..but..It seemed to hard to get the inner shape right (because of the guard having 100 shapes under the piece) so I've rethought the idea and welded the outer to the guard first THEN I'll work out the inner shape on the car

.

:note: I've already bent the round in the top to match the bonnet bar (which I'll also make next).
This will make life easierto make a template...if you're reading this Paul..I know you would have done it differently

..

And now here's the inner pieces added..now you can sort'a see where I'm headed.. I had to do the bits in two sections as it's virtually impossible (unless you're name is Paul Kelly or Harko or Ratbox or SCK or Gaz:lol: ) to make it in one piece.
But that said I'm happy with the result so far..
