ive finished the left rear quater its now
in final under coat ready for paint
pretty happy with how it turned out this panel
like the rest of the panel's was fairly bent and had rust
in the bottom lower section as shown early on in the project

now ive been getting into the right quater wich was the same
dented and rusty some progress at least :)

Coming on very nicely Jay. You are getting a excellent finish of the gun
I found you get what you pay for when it comes to paint/thinners. What brand are you using ? i presume its acrylic ?

G' Day Ben
that gloss shine is actually prepsol wax grease remover
wiped on so the panel looks wet if you do this you can see if there
are any dents or imperfections in the repaired panel a tip i
got off Malcom on here :D but thats the finish you should get
when painted cured and buffed :)
yeah ill be painting it in acrylic and i only try to use the best
the paint shop has to offer when it comes to paint and thinner

Good tip there Jay, will have to remember that one. Its good motivation seeing all your hard work paying off
I used dupont when i sprayed the wagon and found the white in the flash layed on real nice bearly needed any blocking back, but the colour required the usual blocking and buffing, Must of been the way i held my mouth :)

Hey Ben
what shade of white did you use in the flash
off white bright white or something else :?:

Garry
no just patient most of the time
once i get one panel right its hard not to
rush or be as patient with the next because you
just want to paint it and it gets harder the closer you get :)

Jay i guess its just off white (holden grecian white) I was bit shocked when it went on with just a bit of orange peel and not a bad gloss, after the colour had been the usual flatish acrylic finish. The photo does not show it the best but there is still the orange peel after only hitting it with some buffing compound (no wet & dry )

Hi Ben
looks really good mate  i think i will go with the
grecian white with the pearl over lay i sprayed some pearl
white the other day with the silver under it and it looks
good but maybe just a bit to silver so i think the white
under the pearl will be better thanks for the pic 8)

Thanks
Mick PM sent :)

Ben
Here is a pic of the white pearl over a silver base
i think its too silver so will be using grecian white
as a base with the pearl white over the top
next to the blue it looks ok but needs to be abit whiter

I'm sure it will look good either way you go Jay, you have a good eye when it comes to your colour combo's. I have never played with pearls metalics etc, how many coats of base and then pearl would you do, and are you going to do a clear coat on this one ?
