Thanks for the posts and comments .....
Andrew, glad you like it mate.
FB MAD, thanks for the thumbs up!
Fatboy, thanks mate, I have around 360mm with the lip still on the guard the tyres are 330mm wall to wall..... get that van going!!
Trev, maybe you can see the vision I have for the finished dash (far from were it is now!) guages will not be flush mounted, the new panel will look similar to the original dash when done.
ratbox, cheers mate, I'm just trying to be different and no offence taken..
Devilrod, thanks for the feedback mate, tried the same height first but I had a few probs with it. 1/ would have lost the dash trim (which I like). 2/ I am fitting a complete A/C - heater unit from a VN SS and I need the height up under the dash as it is quite high. 3/ general gauge placement blended better with the curve on the original dash.
Malcolm, hi mate good to see you having a look, loved your guage setup but didn't want to copy...
cheers

EK JAY ... cheers for the post, always helps keep the momentum going!!
Here are some pics .... been busy with other stuff that is slowing me down
I stripped the VN SS and made up the seat rails ..... I welded the original VN nuts inside so the seats are mounted with the VN bolts, the rails are now fully welded to the floor pan

The sandblasters in Darwin are great with 20mm plate but it is recommended not to give them your car
, so I have set up an area in the shed to deal with it, bloody wet season
now and it is very difficult to do this out in the open, 'cause when it rains here it bloody pisses down (40mm yesterday)

bought this little blaster and a shit load of garnet .........

Damn thing works a treat .... very happy ..... should be all done and primed by the weekend

Once the blasting priming is done then it will be repair any "new rust" and then pre assembly of suspension, motor, trans etc......
Just remember ..... when you are workin' tomorrow, I will more than likely have garnet in every orifice
cheers, Garry
