If you go down the Clark Rubber track, and purchase some plain strip rubber (neoprene) - don't forget that there is a need to fit it "proud" at the top so that the fender is "spaced" from the top of the sub-frame skirt......... it will also help prevent fine grit getting between the mating surfaces.

You may also wish to purchase a set of hole punches - they're not expensive - when you strike them (one firm hit) with a small hammer - make sure to have some SOFT wood underneath - do not re-use any part of the wood - find a fresh spot for each new hole.
These punches will make very neat and clean holes as required for your mounting bolts..............use the sub skirt as your template - that's where the bolts will screw into.......

If you find a supplier for the fender/skirt gaskets - kindly advise....

Matty, trim looks like money well spent. How's the panel/paint going ?

With neoprene rubber, because of its composition you will more than likely be able to drill the holes in the rubber with a battery drill, as I did with the neo rubber I used for my external sunshade roof gasket - but of course check/test before hand.

matty on yor old sub frame what is the inside left leg like ?
and the front section from where the front cross member bolts on where the bumper bar bolts and sway bar bolt on what's that like?

Was at an industrial rubber supply place today and was looking at some profiles, the rubber that they use on fuel tank straps on drop tanks looks like it could work, cut it down the middle and you would get two lengths out of one piece ?
Might be worth a look

hey guys,

i finally got some pics of the latest work on the wagon...

these are the first attemp at putting in the door button kits supplied by smoothcustoms, (paul) who has been very helpful & patient with my many questions daily... (sorry paul)...

anyway this is the first door that joe has done... as you can see it's not perfect, but its not bad... for a first attempt...



still having trouble posting pics... hopefully sorterd out by next week...

I'm Smooth of the original Smooth Customs of Wollongong (NSW) has "Nothing" to do with Paul Kelly of once known Smooth Cruzin of the Gold Coast in Queensland. Paul just happens not to clear this up. Paul recently changed his business name to my old business name because he forgot or couldn't afford to pay his business registration on time and as he has already said a car yard near him stole it (Smooth Cruzin QLD).
