Very interesting Stephen. I’m debating whether to fill the existing holes in my ute and place new fasteners to suit one of the eBay ones, leave the holes and hope the eBay tonneau fasteners are in the right spot or get one made up. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I welded the holes up and had a new flat tonneau made with press studs holding it down , looks heaps neater IMHO.
Like the idea of the flat tonneau Blacky. Might have a chat to the trimmer.

Clay,
You can order the tonneau cover blank and they supply your preferred fittings separate for you to fit (included in the price). That way you can place the fixings where you want to suit your ute. That is what I did. You just need the tool to fit the press studs. You are welcome to borrow my tools.
I can bring my new tonneau cover down to your place and we can throw it on your ute and see what you think. I guess if your thinking about filling holes now is the time.
Regards
Stephen

That first tonneau looks to be a little small. Wonder if it was a one-off, or came from another Holden. The second one looks very neat.
Cheers,
Harv
Not sure Harv,
Just think it had shrunk with age and lost its water proofing

Hi Clay;
I have purchased the same flat tonneau as Blacky but not fitted it yet his looks really nice with no overhang down the sides and no elastic loops etc and the guys on ebay that Blacky mentioned are the ones I dealt with great to deal with, good quality, affordable price and they also made my headlining.
Regards
Neil

Clay,
Can't make it to the swap meet this weekend but should be able to tee up a visit in the near future.

Hi Folks
Time to tidy up the back of the Ute. I had picked up a load of compost a while ago and after it sat in the back for a week it started to damage my timber floor by taking the gloss off. So I have decided to repolish the floor and cargo strips. Before I do that I am going to repaint the panels and sides / tailgate. Have got the KBS paint to try.

Found the drain tube was rusted off underneath so flared a piece of 5/16" copper and soldered it in with some silver solder. Should be all good now.

Stephen
