Ok, I've spoken to Bill (reidy) the Vic club president and we talked about meeting with the club members that are going at the service station on the western ring road (pictured below "B arrow").
I put directions from the melbourne airport here.
And directions from Melbourne here.

I really dont think you need shoo roos in the day time..... But they are great at night and only $2.95..
Does anyone know a good motel near where you all are meeting up??
HI Mark and all other travellers,
Would seriously recommend the shoo roo thingys. We have them on all our cars the roos are especially bad between Casterton and Mount Gambier,(pine forests) and Heywood and Mount Gambier (scrub)(depending on which way you are travelling). We travel between Casterton and Mount Gambier often for work during the day, and there are always skippys galavanting about. Also while on the topic, watch for emus they almost out number the skippys and they have even less brains!!! Like you mentioned Mark, they are not dear and are worth the money, at least they make "skip" stop and at least think!
kind regards
Lesley and Roger
Thanks Lesley...
yes, emus - great stupid bushes with legs..... run like they have their heads chopped off - absollutely no idea which way they are going to turn next - neither do we....
The female lays the eggs and that's the end of childhood for her...... male hatches the chicks and rears them until they can survive on their own - or not! - how would you be if you never met your mother - and your dad wore dresses, fed the babies and did the shopping.....? those hens have a lot to answer for.... floosies!
Skippys - not as stupid, but likely to bound out from anywhere without any warning.....
hmmmm..... skippys AND emus.... might take the ferry.
No fear - I'll just throw a few more coats of Meguiar's NXT 2.0 wax paste on - it worked coming out of Yamba... skippy "slid" off.....
Spot on Rosco....
At least "usually" once a skippy starts bounding it keeps going......emus have the uncanny knack of being able to stop and turn around ...
hmm speaking of NXT2 best get back to it
cheers
Lesley
They are little "whistlers" ...we have them on our bumpers just beside the overriders. They are known as "animal scarers", "mini shoo roos" "whistlers"....Autobarn, Bursons, Supercheap all have them. The "standard" type are black but if you want to be real fancy you can get silver coloured ones. We have these on our cars and you hardly notice that they are there.
regards
Lesley
