ok, update:
Did some guard rolling the ghetto way, and learnt alot on the way. first thing i learnt was an angle grinder and fb metal are good friends, and also that similar results can be achieved with a length of trampoline tube and abit of driving back and forth. as for the result, two nicely rolled guards, which allows the front wheels to fit on, but they still rub on coners, so i will be putting stock springs in to lift the front, and keeping the spindles to make it sit nice. im not sure what the current front springs are as they came with the front end when i bought it, but i would guess 1.5" lower than stock, so with that lift, it should be good to go:) as for whoever put me onto a torana diff for the the rear, thanks, it works a treat:) so the list of things to do now on it are as follows:
1. fix rust in sills, rear quaters and below the rear windscreen
2. new drums on the rear
3. lift the front a tad with stock springs
4. get a stereo
5. stick in a rb30et
6. new carpet
7. balance the tail shaft and get new uni joints to stop the HORRIBLE 60mph vibrations
some of these things will be done soon, some like the engine will take a few years, but be assured whatever happens it will be well documented here:) yes nomad iam still looking for a air cleaner, doesnt need to look pretty because its for my sisters ek which looks crap anyway. fb's rule:)

You know you can check if its your uni's causing this vibration. Jack the car up and see if there is any play in the uni's, your tailshaft shouldn't need balancing unless its thrown a weight off.
So do we get any pics with the new wheels on?

you should also find that an LC/LJ tailshaft goes straight in that is if there is something wrong with the tailshaft

checked the uni's iam told by my dad when it went in to olden holden and they were fine, so i guess the tailshaft needs balancing. Mick can u give me any more info on installing a torana unit?

from memory yor car has a trimatic, measure from centre of uni to centre of uni and compare with LC/LJ it should be the same or very close, i use these tailshafts when doing a red conversion
see on ebay there is a sump and some other stuff for an RB30 conversion

Powerglide, Trimatic, (all syncro) 3 Speed and Aussie Four Speed (M20, M21) all use the same crossmember and tailsharft.
