good work mate

Davo, if it's within your budget, I would advise that you take your grey motor to an engine builder whom has experience in working on these motors. I know of a couple of horror stories where grey motors have been taken to engine reconditioners who didn't know what they were doing. Does you mate have experience with grey motors? Remember, a new cam means resurfaced lifters. You can't get these new anymore. My engine builder had to go through three sets to make up one set good enough for resurfacing.lildavo wrote:only update iv got is the motor is all apart bar the crank and cam shaft...i should take some pics of the bores for you all tonight figuring out weather wroth taking it to get honed by a pro or get a mate to do it him self. how ever well get new pistons and cam.
Be bit hard here only got one builder. Other wise 4 hour trip to melbourn, I would of rathered 5l but dad wants it stock cam issue had feeling be a problem. One in there don't look to good. Havnt got it out though to see. Iv rebuilt a 186 before.Stygian wrote:Davo, if it's within your budget, I would advise that you take your grey motor to an engine builder whom has experience in working on these motors.
