We also have found the evil rust elf lurking under a subframe section

So put him to good use and made him wax and grease remover the underbody

Hi everyone, been flatout with another car and just got back to the FB today.
Finished the underbody today welded in the last bit of front subframe and sanded and etch primed the passenger side, then stoneguarded the lot.
Its amazing all of the smoothing and grinding I did is now under a layer of black crud!!
Anyway it looks good now and I am ready to flip it and high fill then prime the body.
on a mission now as my factory is clear of the last 2 projects and the FB is calling me "LAZY BASTARD" "LAZY BASTARD"
I am waiting on photobucket to upload so will post some pics tommorrow.

Decided to cut out the inner guard on the rear end and try the pump out as recomended by other forum users.
Sanded and primed the roof last night and the rear guards. rest of exposed metal is POR 15d so wont rust as it was clean when I put it on.
any way started cutting with the grinder as I am looking at putting a wider tyre on the rear around 225.
Cut and removed the inner guard and created a lot of room unitl i got to where it meets the door. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After chopping out the inner guard I am still left with 26cm width maximum space to fit tyres.
So will have to see what I can do over the coming days.

Does anyone need some rear inner guards? If you pay for postage I will package for free!!!

Startede shaping thenew inner guards today and will be ready to weld in next week.
Decided I would give the underbody another coat of stoneguard underneath sprayed on first coat lookin good then hooked up the next can, WTF is THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now my stoneguard is white! Why do they make stone guard in white? Why didnt I see the label that said "Stoneguard spray on White"?
F!$K now I need another 2 bottles of the SH@t to cover the white coat.
No More stone guard it has now become my enemy not my friend!
Got the front shocks in and rear leafs ready to go diff bolt on next wednesday with front end and setup onto the body whilst it is on the rotiserrie then should be rollin by saturday ready for primer filler and a nice new coat of matt black.
engine block has been decked and heads port matched with headers being assembled over the next month.
Post some new photos next week.

Well didnt get to do what i wanted to from my last post but anyway here I am now.
Got up pissing down with rain, I am going to the factory to do some work on my car OK says the missus.
get to work and dont know where to start, pick up grinder(it has always been a good starting point on my beast) cut out the rest of the mini tubs on my fb.
Welded them in pumped out the guards.
patched the F$%king mess I made when I cut out the inner guard, (note to anyone that cares to listen) DO NOT EVER CUT OUT THE INNER GUARDS UNLESS YOU PLAN TO BUY A REAR CHASSIS CLIP FROM MCDONALD BROTHERS RACING AND PLAN ON TUBBING THE HELL OUT OF YOUR FB EK.You do not gain anything except a massive big open space that needs to be welded shut!!!!!

See the side of the rear guard that was rusted out that was cut away, it has mind F$%ked me for the last 3 months how I was going to fix it, I had an An epiphany (from the ancient Greek ἐπιφάνεια, epiphaneia, "manifestation, striking appearance") is an experience of sudden and striking realization. Generally the term is used to describe breakthrough scientific, religious or philosophical discoveries but it can apply in any situation in which an enlightening realization allows a problem or situation to be understood from a new and deeper perspective.
So with my newly realized perspective (most likely caused by the inhalation of paint thinners whilst spraying my mates fiberglass bodied speedway car during the week) I attacked the project with gusto.

Not much on at the moment with all the rain so started to make some progress on the FB again.

Patched the inner rear guards seam filled the tacked in panels, prep washed the s*&t of everything and started high filling.
Today I will be getting my front end diff tailshaft and leaf springs painted in 2 pack red base I was using holden red but have decided to go a little brighter this time.
Engine bay and interior will be sprayed the same color as well as under bonnet and boot.
Haven't decided whether I will go flat black or satin for exterior.
