Department of Nit-Pickery (hope you don't mind me pointing this out) -

You have the crankcase breather pipe attached one sump screw too far back. Otherwise everything looks too clean, neat and freshly painted.

Get heater hoses in the right firewall holes. Have to swap them over because valve thingy lines up with lower hose which of course I made the long oneImage.
Other than that all went trouble free.
Knocked off now 'cause its 6° and while I'm not "bad to the bone", I am am now cold to them!

Looking good Brett! and you are a braver man than I as I've spent most of the day inside thinking about what I should be doing in the shed :hehhh"

Great stuff Brett. I guess my radiator cut out is wider as I don't have a problem getting a red motor in with the grey box mounts and alternator.

Yes Clay, looking at the EK ute sitting alongside that has a red motor radiator, there is probably 3 - 4 more inches to play with. Wasn't hard to install both in the bay afterwards.

Thanks Rob: I like my fastback breather but will check out possible movement tomorrow. I make no promise to conform though. Always thanks for your ongoing vigilance.

Dave, by staying in the house today, you are confirming yet again that you are much more intelligent than me🙂. I was too weak to resist the enticing call of Wilma 🥺. But by 2pm I was over her charms and frozen.

Question for FB ers. Does the grill go in before the indicator housings or after? Doing a few grill repairs now but that job is up next. Many thanks.

Pretty sure I put the grille in first

Many thanks gents. Just trying to minimise paint risk by doing things right the first time.

Front work last couple of days. Welded up a few dodgy grill legs and did a bit of paint and polishing of the shiny bits. Another step closer.
I know Blacky will have a different view but the EK grills are soooo much less fuss.ImageImage

Looking good.

Speedo cable is bugging me. Sorry to nit pick. Originally would have been clipped to clutch reservoir. Then I think captured in the passenger side cowl wiring hanger. Then subframe clip near starter feed attachment. A tab on the underfloor, then in to the box.

I may have a reservoir clip you can have. At least I cast my eye on what looked like one when sifting through bits the other day. Will have a look.

Great thanks Clay- happy to have a clip if you have a spare. Currently it's not connected to gear box and just hanging around. Was going to attach it to firewall with a loom clip, and yes have the bottom clip on the lhs kframe arm ready for it Have to sort a heater hose fitting to rocker cover bolt to hold the long hose too.

This is the part. I don't think it is the right clip in retrospect, but wtf is it?Image
