Drew,
Yes. EJ-EH drums are backward-compatible with FB-EK.

Hey Guys, I have been meaning to take 5 minutes and do a post for an update but yeah shit I just haven’t got round to it.
Last update was about the brakes which I think have all gone together pretty well, I have my junior helper here with me for the week so I reckon I’ll get to her to help me bleed them up.
Should I disconnect the brake pipe from the master and bleed that individually first?
I don’t remember doing that back in the day and they bled up ok.
Any ways, with that all sorted out I have been working on getting the panels back on.
Door hinges cleaned up and mounted, drivers side guard cleaned up and on for a test fit, passenger side guard is getting a bit TLC in the form of a shitty fitting rare spares rust replacement section.
As per usual it’s a 60% fit so I’ll get my thinking cap on to try to make it work.

So the LGS guard had a bit of cancer down low so I’ll try to get that sorted today.
Cut the offending section out and a tricky bit will be to replicate the vertical mounting face on the A pillar.
So here we go.

As long as you do most of the welding with everything fitted up to the car it’s not too bad. Make sure the continuation of the sill profile lines up okay looking from the side.

Quick stretch of some 1mm angle to the right profile

Good to hear your chipping away Drew. Careful you don’t scratch the paint putting those guards on!

That’s a good call Clay, yes I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
There is literally no way these patch panels can be welded straight on.

Um yeah I think it’s too late for that haha!
I’ll get the touch up brush and do some artistry when the job is finished.

Getting there, got to love the basic profiles on these patch panels.
If you don’t love them you hate them!
You can see the yellow line was the original fold line, lucky it had the extra bit of material on the fold that I could flatten out to use.

Got the help of the #1 child , brakes bled up which is a small but monumental win.
It means progress is being made.
And the patch panel always look better without that shit black goo on it.
Always better with a touch of etch.

While the paint stripper was working I summoned the exorcist from her bedroom…
Seems when ever she is here my spirits disappear…
Got her to hold the front beaver panel, and hour of knocking around seen it slip into place which will have to be good enough for now.
I call it ASBESTOS… As best as it’s going to be for the moment.
With time tapping on my shoulder I still have an engine to build an and auto spark tard to do his job yet.
Nationals are still in the scope
