my mates plymouth been in flat paint (acrylic with flattener) from bear metal atleast 6-7 years never seen the inside of a shed or carport and still as good as the day it was put on

Must be a better brand of acrylic than what dad got for my sisters wagon. After 3 years it went from purple to nearly white, it went really chalky. The car is in central Vic and sits under a carport.

hmm i think i'd rather stick with gloss, i don't like the idea of not being able to polish my car! haha

jimmy you can polish my car :D i hate doing it :x hence the flat paint on my cars i don't even like washing them :?

Might be a silly question, but isn't there a matt (flat) clear available that still keeps the flat look, though still protects the base coat ?

yes there is but still give s it a certain shine, i personally dont like a slight shine, if im gona have gloss i want full gloss but if im gona have flat then i want full flat none of this inbetween crap.
im happ to give it a quik coat every now and again if thats what it needs and if i get sik of it ill jus put a few coats of clear on top and buff that up and voila shiny paint :D

I think its called intercoat (2pak)and can be blocked back and cleared over.
