ute progress

Post by Kingaz »

Haven't updated for a while so just a quick update on the progress plus lots of pics

Placed the seat back in the car didn't realise how bad it was... amazing what a few years of not seeing it clouds the reality, so now its off to Reservoir Trimmers for Carlo to retrim so the interior will all be uniform and like brand new.

Most chrome pieces went back on mirrors, handles etc...

Ute will be off to the mechanics in a few weeks so i thought i'd check on the braking as i thought the cob webs might not be up to scratch.. to my surprise new shoes lines drums just needed a light sand. For some reason i like the look of the ute with no wheels

While it was up a chance to try one of the rim options that i have.... still undecided

Cleaned the wheels sprayed them black put them back on with the chrome rings and hub caps for now dont mind it this way at all

Enjoy the pics

Decisicions desicions.....

Just Rotate between the two, although an altitude adjustment would help. I'd get a nose bleed up that high

Nearly there sure does look good.

I'm not usually a mags fan, but those mags would look sweet, like the rest of the car, Trev 8) .

ute progress

Post by Kingaz »

Well progress came to a halt over the past few months with wedding and house plans. Couldn't get the motivation going until i thought to complete the interior. New alarm installed along with the CD player and speakers.

6X9's customer mounted under the dash CD player mounted in glove box and 4" lay just under the original speaker hole in the dash. Sound is amazing

A few modern accessories Volt gauge next to the CD player in the glove box plus water and vaccuum gauge in a surround under the ash tray with chrome bezels.

Image

The poor mans heater was removed to fit one of the speakers due to clearance does anyone have any ideas on either where i can place it or an alternative as i only need it to demist the windows

Image

Most of the wiring has been redone with the installation of the alarm and CD player lights re connected. Retrimmed seat should be in by next week with carpet and sill plates to finish the interior. Waiting on the bezels from Rares to arrive to finsih that off.

the installation of the stereo cannot be seen and looks factory sound is great found myself sitting in the shed for over an hour listening to classics

Enjoy the pics

Well stereo install in finished with glove box area complete

Decided to finally drop the seat to be re trimmed...colours colours colours. same decision as Marty difficult to choose with the Tuscany yellow. End result will be a darker green than factory with white in the drivers and passengers section replacing the original grey inserts, it now matches the new hood lining.

In doing this the seat surrounds needed to be re sprayed unable to match the colour i went with Oxford Green metallic has a nice contrast to it with the darker green

Bare metal

Final coats

As always opinions most welcomed hope to have interior completed by this weekend was trying to be done by summernats but looks like completion will be delayed until All Holden Day as the first outing

Enjoy
