Cheers rosco, It turns out the speedo doesn't work so I had to use the trusty old "dashboard" app on my phone. Sat on 100k's no worries. Got up to 115 but didn't wanna push it too hard for too long, plus I was more than happy just cruzin!
As for the VH44 booster, are they from a commodore or something or just get a new aftermarket one? And can u run them directly on the firewall in front of the master cylinder or do they have to be put elsewhere leaving the master cyl on the firewall?
Cheers

Tyson wrote:Cheers Nathan, I was actually looking at those mooneyes ones from armadale auto parts last night. Not badly priced either. I was thinking electrical guages but I suppose mechanical ones are foolproof and still pretty easy to rig up. I do like those autometer ones that woody used though... Mind u they're about 4 times the price!

yeah you never know what you an find on ebay and/or gumtree... just depends on the look you are after... cost < cool
plus nothing wrong with mechanical gauges at all...
the VH44 is a remote brake booster, the master stays on the firewall, alot of people put them under a guard so it looks original, simple google search would probably nswer your questions on that one.. but pently of people have done it here.

Don't worry about stealing anyone's look. You're on opposite ends of the country

Hi Tyson
I have just joined this forum as well I just picked up an EK ute body that can go alongside my FC sedan, I really love the look of your sedan mate that was a really great pick up for the price as everybody has said.
I haven't picked up my ute shell yet but may need a front chassis are any of the ones on your place good enough to save?

13" mate, I have 2 sets, FB with maxxis tyres for street and a HR set with silvertown whitewalls for show.
Don't ever sell your standard rims on the car, there to hard to get a good set.

G'day Neil, thanks for that. I'm pretty happy with it.

good to hear about the EK. Hope to see the build on the forum!
I have both an FB and EK ute but they're both far beyond repair. Sad but true. There's a few things I'm gonna rob off them, just bolt on bits I'll put in the shed and save for spares. Pretty sure the sub frames were well and truly gone too! Sorry mate.

If those bumperettes aren't rusted through yet grab them, they're not easy to find.

Thanks for that Tyson I will keep looking the guy I bought it from says he may have one but might be rough so I will just have to sort it.
Mate if one of the ID plates is in reasonable nick from one of the utes I could probably do with one as the guy also has now told me that the shell is missing it's and he does not know if it is in one of the boxes, willing to pay just PM me mate.
