Dratz , Now I gotta put my 57 bezzels back on ebay
Beaten once again ...

I am loving this thread , Cant see a colour in my minds eye though , Dusty green and baby blues are always a winner and red & white .
Silver would work or tones based on it ,Candy green hmmm its the hardest thing about building a car I reckon.

Hey Mal,
Lookin absolutely sweet!
You know picking colours is the hardest thing to do, Ive had 3 goes at it and still wondering?
Im not going to tell anybody what I have finally chosen as they tend to make comment and you end up changing your mind again!
Just a couple of questions
Will the blinker chrome fit with the light extenstions?
Are you going to use lowering blocks as well as reset springs, the wheel at the positon you have it now is right up there in regard to diff location?
What will you do with the seat plastic to match the interior? Unless you are using brown of course?
Keep the good work going, look foward to one day seeing it in the flesh.
Ive just bought a new house and wont be touching the car until after August will update when it happens.
Regards to all Greg

i already made a comment on colours but seeing as you don't want pearls/metalics, pale yellow with white in either combo roof/body, body/roof, i know it's metalic but silver does look great on them
and seeing as yor intent on making it look like a '57 chev you might as well paint it red/white like all the others

I'm glad you chose to go with your own design on the flash, instead of copying the 57 design, Trev 8) .

Hey guys,

Thanks for the input. So far the colours were tossing around with is a pale blue & white or as the wife suggests the pale yellow & white. But then I do like the two tone green also. Undecided. I do think it would look good in metalic but I'm concerned about getting someone around here to do a good enough job. Thats the problem with being a spray painter by trade.

Greg, the lower light trim with fit right up under the headlight trim no problem.
I'm just waiting to get the diff in to see how it will sit, but I think I'll still need lowering blocks also as long as I have the room.
The seat plastics will just be painted to match what ever the interior colour will be.
Interior colours always seem a lot easier to choose.

Cheers

Ratbox,
I wish I could paint it myself, I'd be happy then. I want it done in 2 pack so it has to be done in a booth. I'm planning on doing all the body work, priming and rubbing back myself, so I'll only need someone to put the colour on. I could probably live with that.

you can't hire a booth, looking at the mustang it would be a shame if you didn't do it yorself and then you could say you did everything bar the trim unless yor doing that aswell

Ratbox,

Where I live there's only one panel shop in town with a real spraybooth. They will paint it but I cant do it myself. Every body is scared now days of public liability.
I nearly considered doing it in acrylic just so I could do it myself, but as I'm planing on using it as a daily driver it has to be 2 pack.

Hi all,

Just a couple of pics of the front now its just about all set up the way I want it. The lights just need a bit of hammering and a coat of the plastic stuff. Things have slowed a bit on the car, must be the cold weather. I don't know how you southerners work in the cold.

Cheers

Mal
