Looking good there mate, except the wheel combo in the last pics!
good work putting your mates to work! wait till you have to pay them in beer, but then again that just makes the arvo a bit more fun! i'm sure some will agree!
Cheers

Looks to me you can have the best of both worlds...As Thommo puts it the Grandpa look or the modified look...
Keep up the good work!

haha nice thanks westy. the front wheels will be gone as soon as i get the guards rolled and some skinnier tyres for the front rims. i will be painting the original rims black, hopefully getting some go domes for them and then running them with not hubcaps and just dress rims and chrome nuts when i want a change of look for the fb. my only concern is that with the shorter diff, it will look weird on the back:) might have to poach my sister's 1960's wideys:)

So long as the work is finished!!! I've seen flutes go in crooked on one side, after beer was consumed luckily not my car
Good to see you not wasting valuable time Austmod, keep at it and you'll be out and about in no time....

the fb is getting quite abit of driving exposure with the wrong wheel combo

can anyone suggest how i can get the front mags to fit? they almost sit right on the guard as the car is so low and they are 6" wide

Raise the front a little, you dont have much choice.
It will look cooler slightly higher with four matching wheels,
than slightly lower with missmatched wheels.
Add spacers under the front coil spring.

Couple of options,
1: Get the fronts rims narrowed....
2: Raise the front up...
3: Roll the gaurd lip...
4: All of the above....
5: Run steelies and white walls
The only way to run them loooooowwwwwww
I'll just add I run a standard 5" rim and 185/75 14" and my tyres rub on full lock

If I rolled the lip it would probably still do it!
Doesn't really help huh!?

Sounds like the offset is too far , You might be able to get the rims reversed to correct it , A good wheel guy will weld them back on with enough penetration and heat but wont effect the chrome coating ....
Do your measuring and dont sound stupid when you go pricing , A fool and his money are easily parted,
Id stick the steelies back on the rear ....

i think ill go for stock springs in the front and rolled guards to see if it helps. i will keep the drop spindles

just tried them on the ek, and they fit fine. i think thats lowered bout 2inches so should be ok with stock springs
