i think itd just look a lil bit tidier (but i dno limits behind dash etc.) You could even throw a stereo in the extended polished bit!

what happened with the flash kit as well?
Cheers Jay, Ratbox and Brodie (Ratbox-Mick, mate.....you and me both on waiting for that pic!)

J,
The problem with trying to fit the switches and A/C controls under the quad gauge pod is the ducted AIRCONDITIONER!! Ain't much room under an EK dash, that was the reason for doing the guage pod in the first place..... to get it above the A/C unit, also do not want the stereo visible as a current style stereo system headunit looks wrong in an 'old' car (my opinion only).........also, the other problem is that I wanted to keep the original dash trim (aluminium strip) and where the switches are is where the "original radio" was located, it is almost impossible to join the trim and make it look acceptable so the option is to locate the switches etc where the radio was originally. Beside all that, it gives the passenger something to do as I will be too busy trying to keep it pointing in the right direction

And yes it would be hard to make it like your drawing because all the guages are different sizes and the dash isn't straight  As for the "Flash Kit".............. stay posted  (there is more to come yet).

I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes of aircon switches. But thanks for kinda clearing it up (must be pretty big)

I also wondered how that trim could be joined. Looks good polished and engraved anyway :D

    That would make it interesting hey Harko!!! The actual switches to operate the Line lock and Trans Brake are on the console behind the shifter and are "momentary switches" (these type of switch has to be physically held on, as soon as you let go they turn off - I know you would know this Harko and most would, it is just for general info for anyone that is reading the thread that my not know what a "momentary switch" is). The dash switches are to fully isolate them so they cannot be "accidently" pressed and activated, you could hit the Line Lock button 100 times while driving and it would do nothing to effect the car unless you used the brakes, the Trans Brake on the other hand would not be so forgiving  .

SC00BB, yep bustin' to get it out for a spin............

J,
The A/C switches are reasonably big in comparison to normal switches but it is just the general lack of room in that area due to the A/C unit and all the ducting wich is 70mm diameter and there is 4 of them  ..... so it was down to millimeters to get stuff in  .

Yeh because it's an EK.......NOT!!   I put it in just incase it ends up at the Summer Nats one year and it helps in the burnout pad by stopping the back brakes from overheating...... other than that it will probably never get used  .
