Stephen mate the gaps written are the required gaps.
The laminated gaps were about 5-6 mm at worst.
So I ground the edges with a 60grit flapper and tear fitted the screen about 6 times.

End result is pretty sweet!

Success indeed with the windscreen.

5-6mm off in some spots to somewhat match the factory screen profile.

Lots of test fitting an measuring, when I achieved the same clearances as marked on the blue tape I went for a dry full fit with the rubber and soapy water.

A slight adjust of the stainless trim and then a final fit with a shit load of mastic.

End result is pretty darn good, at least something I am happy with.
Passenger side is absolutely bang in perfect, drivers side is not consistent by about 2mm.
It’s a curse being a toolmaker, everything needs to be true, plumb and square.

Richard did a great job and I’d highly recommend him.It’s hard to find a windscreen fitter who specialises in classics that will come out on the weekend and sink a few beers with you at the end of the job.

And yes please excuse the shitty self tappers on the corners…

Thanks for posting Drew. Good info to know. Looks like you got it sorted well.

Brett it was time consuming but apparently that’s how the pros do it more or less, they may have some other fancy equipment though.

Another point to remember is to keep the glass cool with a wet rag.

On with the king pins tomorrow, diff and axles hopefully fitted on Monday, then it’s a toss up weather I fit the motor and gear box or push on with the doors.

Guessing all the glass people would buy from the one manufacturer ? Cant see a big enough market in FB/EK windscreens to justify 2 or more companies doing them ....

Anyways you want to know where I got the glass?
I got it from the auto glazier who ordered it for me, as Blacky said you more or less get what you are given.
2 options, the dark strip of tiny on top of the windscreen, or the clear light green full tint like I got.

Finally king pins are built just need to tel grow them onto the front end.

If it wasn’t for Blackys misfortune with his kingnpins id be unsure if I have put these back together correctly.

The little grease caps are easy bent and dented, as usual I got it looking good on the last one… won’t show you the first 3 haha
