Marty - I've thought about that too. Given that it's getting a seond lease on life I'm going to wind the clock back to zero. Also the current mileage isn't 'true' as we are now onto the 2nd grey motor.

Over the years I've seen a fair few FB EKs. There have been four that have really influenced the direction of my rebuild...

First one was owned and built by Bruce Giles with the help of Warren Watt - both former members of the NSW Club. The build was in the mid to late 1990s and was possibly the first FB I ever saw and heard that had a hot grey motor. It was a light bulb moment. It's now owned by Peter Glading a member of the NSW Club and regularly seen on Club runs and Nationals.

The next two I consider as a pair and are owned by Joe and Sam Crupi in the VIC Club. I first saw these amazing EKs at my first Nationals at Bathurst and from the moment I saw them I was hooked. Possibly the first time I saw a grey motor with triples. The whole package is just spot on with stance, wheels, hot grey and minor custom touches. Very understated and totally cool and wagons as well.

And the last but not the least is Thommo's Retro FB. I first saw this on the Forum but then for real at the Forbes Nationals. It just oozes cool for me with lots of nostalgia.

Where it all started...

I took the engine to Dominator at Guildford for the rebuild.





The head had a port and polish

Inlet and outlets were ported to match manifolds.

Over the years I have collected a few bits n pieces...

I stripped the carbs down and polished each one by hand...crazy stuff...
