southcoastkustom wrote:As for the water thing, the way I see it is that most of the time I'll be driving forward, so the way the louvres are pressed most of the water will go over them. I know a few guys with bonnetless hotrods who drive in the rain/ wash their cars with water and dont have any probs. Just means the engine might need a quick chamois afterwards as well...

I'm the same, bonnets barely on the roadster anymore. Rain is only an issue if you leave it parked in the rain for 4 hours striaght! Seems water gets in everywhere

As for chamoising the motor, it dries once warmed up a bit

Flutes done at Romanos Rod Shop here in Adelaide. He's a cool guy with some real nice cars. Think he's the last local person that does it, it's a bit of a dying/ lost art I reckon. It feels real 60's which is exactly what I want

louvers

never had any dramas with water getting in on the orange van, woulda been worth it though cause they look so good
we drove our A roadster pickup with no bonnet engine completely out in the open in P!SSING DOWN rain for over an hour and then another hour and a half of mild weather with absolutely no dramas

except the stereo got soaked and died and we got soaked but didn't die
