Some great cars in the stable there Steve. My two favourites - the Snowcrest White / Tartan Turquoise EK and the Cameo Beige 9000 mile EK. Gorgeous cars! :D 8)

Just had another look through the virtual museum

Shit that's a lot of cars!

Just a quick question and asked with total respect.

What is it you like about the standards - you seem to go for them over the others?

The flashline ute is a curious one - did that come ex factory as a splurgy sort of option. A sixties version of the bling we see utes with now?

Cheers

Hi Dave, Standards are my favorites as you can see. To me they really show off the body shape. The Flash was a novelty that came and went. Why the flash came in on the FC and disappeared after the FB is strange. In the big picture Holden built most cars without flashes. I also like the all one colour look. The lack of chrome really makes the tail lights and indicator lenses stick out!

Standards are also the best cars to find with rare fleet colours. Ex Government cars. Plus extreme rarities like the Standard Auto. They don't come much rarer than that car!

If one is into Vans and Utes as I am, the standards match these better. Standards are also rarer than Specials, with the Van being the rarest, than the standard wagon. Third would be the Standard sedan.

Did I mention I like standards?

Flashlines are dealer fitted or fitted by the manufacturer of the flash kit. In this case, the flash fit was fitted by Canopy Industries in Marrickville NSW.

Flash kits on Commercials are very hard to find.

Haven't done a thing to this ute as I am spending all spare time on FB's for the Nationals. I won't be taking any EK's to the Nationals, only FB's. I will reverse the all one model display next year with the 50th EK.

Well Stealth EK , once upon a time .... there was a certain EK Ute that went for $31,000 Cropper Creek for memory ..... I should PM you the rest

I have found homes for a few FB-EK Ute's around this price.
