Thanks fellas. This is a cracker of a post for someone coming up to this task fairly soon. Really appreciate the effort everyone has made.

UPDATE,

I had a chance to see another laminated windscreen installed in Billy Blackarrow's car today and to my relief the trim sits almost identical to mine. Billy's is also a Rares Rubber and looking closely its a good all round fit as well. Like I said its extremely likely all cars will have a different fit due to body, glass and build irregularities.

Dave from Rares has also kindly offered me a rear screen seal to trial and I will be doing that hopefully tomorrow. I will go into more detail in regards on how to do it including some action shots and tips for anyone who would like to attempt this sort of job themselves.

Now you're just reinforcing my saverscion to laminated screens Greg. I recall when Craig's Allardice was having trouble he was trying to fit a laminated screen. By jingo.

So I had a fun day yesterday putting the rear screen in.

This time original trim and glass went back in, with a Rares Spares rubber.
The fit on the window was good like the front one and I had no issue putting it on the glass itself. The trim took a about 1/2 an hour to get right using lots of soapy water and to check that it had seated correctly. This is a painful part and can do your head in but it MUST be done right before you attempt to put it into the car. The soapy water lets it move around quite easily. Soak the cord, got this from bunnings it makes it easier to pull out later. Got the suction cups from bunnings a couple of years ago for a shower screen, they work a treat. Place some sealer arount the edge where the rubber sits and i also put some on the overlap panel to stop water ingress, tape the paintwork as the trim may scratch it.
Place the window in and make sure its centred, you can still move it around at this stage.
Start pulling the cord out and do it equally each side in small increments. Move to the outside and push down from the top to seat it.

Keep doing this until the screen is in position and pull the cord up the pillar and parallel to the window, the rubber comes out easier this way.
Keep moving to the outside and push the window down and slap it to seat. Work your way around until all the rubber is pulled in on the inside and your done !!!! .

The verdict !
This actually took me longer than the front window because its tighter and needed a lot of wriggling, pushing and pulling to get it into the gap at the top. The rubber was hard to pull out from the top but you must take your time and be patient. The trim sits perfect and is even all round and this took a couple light taps with a rubber mallet to make it all sit home. Once again checking the alignment of the body edge to glass fit initially will make this job easier. I also discovered that if you pull to hard on the rubber it may stretch the edge and give the illusion that's its to long on the inside. I have one spot where it has done this but I feel it will shrink back into position given time. Using lots of soapy water will limit this. The Rares rubber is a good tight fit and to be honest needs a person that is patient and willing to spend the time massaging everything into position. Total time it took me was 3 hours go to whoa !

Well done and great write up. Thanks for the hints on soaking the cord. Off to Bunnings to get a pair of those suction cups, some cord, and been meaning to get a rubber mallet for years. I just wish the trimmer would hurry up with my lining now.

Forgot to mention in the front screen install that on some cars the trim may sit proud in this area so its probably worth while removing the wiper pivot chrome block so it doesn't get in the way of the trim.

Agree. It’s easier to massage the bezels in to place when the screen is in than vice versa. Although on the FB they have brass pipes for the washers, which makes them a bit tricky to fit.
