If you've got the discs fit them. With my grey powered one I found to handle heavy traffic and the amount of driving I was doing I needed to adjust the brakes every month or so to keep them really good. They were unboosted too. Well adjusted drums do work very well but discs require far less work.

I agree with Devilrod about the drums, the only other additional comment I'd make is if you need to allow a bit more space between you and other traffic.

Okay, sounds like the grey will be the way i go as i dont bumper to bumper that often. I've wanted to keep the FB as close to orig as possible. I still want to add a few things to make life easier like a sterio and Dash fan but i wont be making any changes to put these in.

As id be keeping the grey would i need to do any mods to the FB to make it legal in Victoria and should i do any mods to the Motor its self to make it more reliable and able to reach the speeds id need to reach?

After my move to Melbourne. This is the garage im in now. It belongs to my Girlfriends Father... He comes and helps out from time to time which is welcomed. I have done more than this to date as these where taken a while ago.

Just Bit the Bullet and decided that there was no way i was going to find my keys. Called a local locksmith company and they are coming out on Saturday to make new keys for my boot and ignition. He Quoted about $350. Not to bad in my opinion.

If it's stock / as per factory, you won't have any trouble with reg in VIC - it's when you start modifying that you may have some 'splaining to do... I've been driving my stock 138 grey daily around Melb for the past coupla years with no major issues - you just need to rellaaaxxx and be patient - you can't really race others for a quick lane change off the lights and give yourself plenty of room to stop (mind the buggers who'll cut in front of you just before a red light...). I must admit, it takes a very different mindset to drive that way - I was used to driving small cars with big-ish engines (a beetle with a 1600 and a mini with a 1130 - not huge power, but zippy agile cars...). I've had it on the highway a few times - it sits easy on 100+, over 110 and it feels like its straining. It won't give you much over 115.

I've been asking around for Sandblasting quotes and i found a local company that will do it for $1200. Seems good to me?

Only problem is it Feels as if i have hit a brick wall. It seems there is little more i can do with the current knowledge i have. Any chance someone in Melbourne could come and show me a few tricks? My Shout!

Hey, little bit of work has been done. Started my engine to see if i needed to reco it. Turns out she starts just as well as she runs! That's something i don't have to worry about.

Signed myself up for a welding course. Goes for a month and a half but i feel it will give me the necessary skills to cut out all my rust by myself... Hopefully.

Nothing like hearing a grey to get some motivation...

No course needed to cut the rust out....

Sorry couldn't help it. The course is the best thing you could do. knowing how to weld will help and not just for rust repair, but other problems too.
