Dave came back for some final touches...he has done an incredible job...a dream come true

with the dash finished we could take off the plastic from the front end and then I gave her a wash...

now I'm starting to add bailey channels and refit all the door mechanisms and glass....



also lots of little 'bits n pieces' are coming out for fitting. I have been renewing all these things over the past few years...

thanks everyone for their interest and encouragement it certainly helps me keep going with it. It doesn't seem like I have done a lot but we are making headway.

One final 'teaser' shot for now...

Don't we all, Stewart..... patience, Grasshopper - often the difference between a great job and an unbelievable one - is what you are doing now..... lots of masking tape! One trick I learned from my model aeroplane days - for delicate areas where paint may lift... especially over small crowns and in recesses - lay the tape face to face gently, then pull it apart again.... it reduces the amount of "stick".... but still affords protection. Don't be afraid to apply more than one layer of it when fitting difficult pieces requiring a lot of force or bumping......

Your work and dedication to Old Timer is amazing - I cannot wait for you to give me a personal 1/2 hour (at least) over it.....

On a foot note of Rosco's adheasion reducer .. one trick I learnt from my sign writing days was how to reduce the 'tack' of tape.
Sprinkle a little talc powder on the tape surface (sticky side of course) then flick off the excess..instant 'low tack' tape.
