Chatswood B&C also can handle re-sleeving jobs - they are a little more expensive than Burt Bros, but the Chatswood resleeves come back nicely zinc-plated.

Apparently people send stuff from all over to Power Brakes SA, as if you don’t have enough options already Joe. What I’ve seen of the new stuff looks pretty ordinary. Tell the truth now I’ve done mine I’m wondering if I should have gone EJ HR, and fit my Torana rear axle and 14x7’s I got for the van. Especially with the tricky FB EK rear wheel bearing setup. Bleeding rodders again. I can’t help myself. Just seen a HR ball joint front for $250.

Sorry to hear about your broken pelvis! Jeez that must be a spicy pain. I trust the seat in the Humpy and it’s compliant ride have kept the discomfort to a relative minimum... but sitting still for that amount of time can’t be fun. Glad the car is running like a sewing machine at least

Only about half way done on the rear quarter... time is an accordion when you start obsessing over sanding panels flat and trying to sculpt body filler.

Its amazing how the time flies when you set a goal !!

I thought my tidy up of my EK was a few months, but I have lost 12 years some how

The long board is certainly a good teller of highs and lows, you'll have it done today I'm sure Joe, good work.

Thanks Clay, always good to have options but will keep it local.

Oh I've consciously decided to avoid the slippery slope of modifying stuff... it will be nice at rego time to point to everything and say "unmodified". We'll see what the future brings though.

Thanks for the pep talk Greg! Had a coupla too many bevs and mighta woken up today in yet another band today so I'm gonna slay this body work today indeed before life gets busy again haha.

Yeah, I reckon a lot of the rear quarter wobbles are gonna come up looking respectable. Actually really glad I bothered to do this now

Man acquires a slide hammer and suddenly thinks he’s a panel beater: here’s a few before during and after shots of my LHF wheel arch straightening today.



















Still rough as guts, still looks like every other bodgy repair around this car, still gonna stick out like the dogs proverbials once you’re up close... but despite all that, a vast improvement.

Same can’t be said for the state of my fingers after this weekend!

Further to the wheel arch, the entire LH side is now pretty much flat after a decent slog over the long weekend.

Took to a heap of dents in the fender with a rubber mallet from behind and ran a few grades of paper over fender, door and rear quarter with sanding blocks.



I also got the rust repair at the RHR dog leg pretty tidy too. Bit hard to tell with all the colours going on but it’s neat enough:



Just gotta patch a hole in the sill and bog up a cracked bit in the fender (ran out of filler!) and it will be time for paint.

Good work mate , will look a heap better and you are building up a skillset to boot ! Really enjoying watching this build - it goes to show what can be achieved with a can-do attitude and being prepared to have a crack at it
