Die grinder or linisher to take the sides down.

Those masters fit a couple of model Holdens EK EJ EH etc so probably generic.

Your original maybe with the master gods, good luck getting it back.

Prolly got some originals if you want. Did they resleeve? Just have mine a quick 240 grit finger hone and new rubbers. All good.

Your brake master cylinder is HD-HR. They have a wider mounting flange. As you've discovered, the wider flange interferes with the Phillips screw just to the right of the master cylinder. The HD/HR clutch master cylinders kept the narrow flange.

And the later brake and clutch master cylinders will only take the plastic reservoir. If you want the tinplate reservoirs, you'll have to chase up the early master cylinders.

Yeah that’s what I’ll do mate, but that is what annoyed me…
The one I sent off was an original.

The bloke doing the job at PBR must have wanted the master cylinder more than me…

Yours lines up better than mine Clay, my master covered a third of the philips head screw.

I’ll make it fit no problems now I have stopped grumbling over the old switcheroo trick on me.

Someone wanting a concourse car probably like the look of my master cylinder at the work shop 🤬

Thanks Clay and I think you would even have an original Brake master there too but I’ll pass on the very kind offer.

What I have will work and it’s been overhauled with sleeves etc so I’ll just make it fit and get on with the job of making the lines up.

However I can’t find for the life of me the brass block which bolts to the subframe which directs the brake fluid to the front and rear.

Been going mental trying to find it… shed is getting turned upside down tomorrow

So had a couple of hours spare this morning so I fitted the pedal box assembly.

Damn that spring is a MTHRFKR.

No wonder you guys said to do it on the bench, would have been near impossible in the car.

Next up is the handbrake assembly but to do that I need to fit the firewall insulation so I pulled it off the shelf and man it’s bloody not looking nice.

The boards are cracked and the felt insulation is dry and crumbly…

Does anyone reuse this piece?

I could use dynamat but for some reason in hesitant incase any moisture gets behind it.

Maybe I should rip the felt off and put the dynamat behind the board, I guess it would hold the board together too.

james at classic automotive products makes a quality firewall pad and supplies NOS clips with the kit, i snapped some pics of them today but have no clue how to add pics here, he uses a knife die to punch out the cardboard and insulation, also does the best kick panels and seat belts
in the country

they look good, but are missing the pieces that are bonded to the main piece that go over the subframe ribs

Thanks GPI for the links are but I’ll make do white what I have got, I’ll remove the horse hair and glue some thick felt on.
