Brass is Fine
Re: "(AUST)Mod's Turbo FB"
Sorry man I dont know where I scored mine - possibly dads toolbox back in the 90s
Another tip that works for me is to weld the perimeter of the hole around in a circle and spiral it in fairly quick, when you get it right there's no warpage and it barely needs the grinder .

I use an old plumbers copper soldering iron, they are about a foot long with a nice wooden handle so ya dont burn ya fingers ,you can grind down the head to whatever shape yer want, works a treat n like harko said start welding where there is the most metal on the outer edge of the hole n work into the centre, works for me,

Re: "(AUST)Mod's Turbo FB"
a piece of alloy will also work

Spot on - I got a piece of aluminium from the local scrap joint for $2 and it has worked well.EK JAY wrote:a piece of alloy will also work

I have just realised how much this build has blown out of proportion and the amount of work I need to get done before the FB is back on the road. If only I had a couple of weeks of holidays

Why aren't you driving that instead of the EB Falcon??
That would be way more fun.

Re: "(AUST)Mod's Turbo FB"
SC00B - I would be driving it except the headlight switch is playing up and only giving me high beam.
Well guys, the engine bay is finally in its first coat of paint.
I accidentally purchased high gloss sub-frame black, and as a result, all of the imperfections in my engine bay were accentuated and clearly visible.
To remedy this, I have sprayed a light coat of satin black over the high gloss and it has helped.
Next to come will be my first experiment with metalflake - I have purchased some "black pearl" flake which I will spray into the engine bay. I think it should look cool
Once the flake is in, I can drop the engine back in and start re-routing all of the wiring.
Then I will start on the fuel system. I have settled on a 57l fuel cell. I am thinking of cutting the lid off of my standard fuel tank and reinstalling it without the cover. I will then use the cavity which this will create for my battery and fuel pump etc.
In removing the fuel tank, I also decided it was time to replace my rusted spare wheel well so if anyone wants to sell one let me know. I already have the Black man on the hunt for one but then sooner I can source one the better
Here is my only parts arrival this week - a new all aluminium radiator (made for an EH but I will try to make it fit)
