Don't do it Brett! Keep the clutch - and show me how to do the firewall mod!
Liked the idea of the hinges - not so much the flex/cost/sub frame adjustment. And I do like the groan the springs make when I lift the bonnet - or is that just me?
What about Blacky's hinge mod? Would that give you enough room?

I've had a look through Blacky's hinge mods and like the idea and the price, Scott. Will keep thinking....

First crossmember re-jig. It will be nice to get the front floor in, which is the next job on the list. Handbrake lever mount also to go on.

A bit more progress.
Working out how to set the tunnel up now. I'm thinking of making a curved right angle bracket for the firewall end and just butting on to the new flooring patches when they're made.
Currently the tunnel is not quite central to the crossmember brace (which I'm thinking it will be attached to eventually).
Lots to finish at this end of the car still.

Nice work Brett. Where'd you get those last couple of bits? Or did you make them? Patrick

Thanks Patrick- banged them out here. I don't have the big bead roller to do it properly but better than flat I guess.
The other side in place now. Got to knock off and do jobs now

Thanks Clay. One of those rare days where it all happened easily.
Had another kick-back with one of those poly discs today. I'm now thinking they are pretty dangerous except on flat panels.
