If he can play bass like Gene Simmons on his t-shirt, then he’s doing alright. A Kiss concert in Perth in the early 80’s was one of my most memorable, especially Simmons doing “God of Thunder”

He has a few basses, 4 & 5 string.
The green one is a Spector.

I bought him a nice 70's jazz bass for his 21st. He has slightly reworked the pick up & bridge to suit his needs, but he still loves it.
He does want a Modulus Flea bass though.

I will post where his next gig is at.

After nearly 2 months away from the shed, I’m stoked to be back in overalls, rolling around in flakes of rust and dust again under the Ute (lol)
Also pleased to find that my new tyres and rag-tag collection of original rims have held air pressure, they haven’t dropped, not even 1 PSI

The to-do list is full of fiddly tasks I that I reckon will be needed to get this jalopy over the line, so I can drive it with a degree of confidence to a wheel alignment shop then hopefully blue slip it the same day.



First up is the worst of it: welding in some good metal along the RH inner sill which was previously covered by a plate screwed in with self tappers

Sure was, outer sills on both sides have been done previously. While not brilliant, they’re holding up well enough.

-I’d never have chosen this car, it came my way for next to nothing
-I’m spending next to nothing doing it this way
-I never wanted a pristine perfect show car that I’d be too afraid to put to work.

Howdy Joe,
Good to hear your back on the job. For the bumper rubber stops I grabbed some from Bunnings (door stops). I think the next size down might be more suitable but these do the job.

Sweet! Yes I think those stoppers are the ones that Harv mentioned as well.

My biggest dilemma is finding the right chrome, dome-top bumper bolts round the side of the bumperettes. I currently have hex head bolts and I’ve whacked my shins on them more than once... they are longer than most I have seen on Rare Spares’ website as there are rubber blocks between bumper and body. Same as the front bumper.



Does anyone know if there are bolts from another Holden model, available through Rares, or elsewhere, that will do this job?

The ute ones for the bumperettes are longer. From memory, sedan are 1.5" and ute are 2". I couldn't get a "pack" from Rares, so ended up mixing and matching. I think the bumperette bolts were from a &*#@ pack.

I've got two 1.5" bolts (one rough, one pretty good) and one 2" (new) here. Can throw them in the mail if it helps.

Yes you can use front or rear sedan wagon. They tend to get bent from front rear bingles. Pretty sure rares have them and the bump rubbers as well.
