Thanks Guys,
Neil I painted it today and non reflective clinka grey it is.
All of a sudden I feel the need for originality, well on the outside at least.
Got a spot or two of dust in the Capricorn Coral in some areas if they don't sand/buff out I will do it again later.

Re: Chev EK
Thanks for all the blessings guys,
The dash has held me up a touch, I painted it matt grey first then got finger prints and dust all over it and thought this will be hard to keep clean so went over it with satin as it should be. Stayed up late last night until I couldn't see anymore blocking back the body, nearly done next couple of days.
Bit more today
Thanks to Joe for stopping by and giving me some inspiration, his old ute is great, original and when I sat in it the old three on the tree came back like riding a bike !!!!!
More soon Greg

At Long last some progress for the colour senses in the eyeballs !!!!
My mates are giving me shit about the colour but I'm standing firm.
It looks better in the photos but I am very happy so far.
My fingers are hurting but soldier on !!!!

Ha! After rowing that boat up and down the gears all round Sydney Saturday traffic, on a hot day no less, it felt like I HAD been riding a bike by the time I got home... I jest, it was fun to visitEK283 wrote: Wed Dec 12, 2018 12:07 pm

Oh, and don't listen to your mates, that paint looks awesome. A proper vibrant 60's colour for a proper 60's car, sometimes original can't be beaten I say. It's gonna be such a sleeper.
Keep the pics coming!

Re: Chev EK
I’m with joe on the paint colour. Was a reasonably popular combo in the day and for good reason. When ever I see that colour it transports me back to FB EK Wonderland. Pastel colours suit the cars best.

Re: Chev EK
Snuck in some shed time between opening presents he he he
Base coat then clear.
I'm yet to conquer the dust, but today I saw it fly out of the gun, just like a snake of paint that builds up then lets go.
I use a filter in the gun as well as the throw away type but I think the build up is in the nozzle, not bad but annoying !
I will cut and buff anyway so hopefully it still comes up good.

A man just does not have the time the older he gets to pursue his teenage dreams !
Thanks for all the comments guys.
Out in the sun and now the jellybeans look wrong
I am at ease with the colour but need to learn the art of wet sanding and buffing so far so good !!!
