Update:

Turbo and new engine install has been delayed - have decided to do some more modifications to the engine before I install it.

I am also delaying its installation so that I can generate some funds to allow me to install a full 3" mandrel bent exhaust and custom dump pipe.

I will also inquire about beefing up my powerglide.

From what I've seen over the years, the Poweglide's can handle anything. Not sure if it would need beefing up.

Just concerned about the driveability of a turbo'ed motor with a 2 speed gearbox

Would I need a different gearbox crossmember from the powerglide one?

After speaking to Fatboy and a few others, I have decided that if I am ever going to make it to the nationals, I need a transmission with overdrive.

Consequently, I have been looking into installing a t700 behind the turbo 202 red. 4sp with lockup torque converter is too good to pass up, plus they are cheap! Should be able to handle the power of my little red.

In speaking with Fatboy, he recommended that I source a VN - VP v6 t700 because they have a cable kickdown instead of an electric mechanism.

Can anyone tell me if the following adaptor from CRS will fit a VN - VP t700? It states that it is for VR-VS, but it seems to be the only one listed on their site?

I have lost my sunvisor clips

I really want to put my visor back on but I can't remember where I put the clips which go on the a pillars.

Has anyone got a set for sale?

I am happy to give them back should mine turn up

Besides that unpleasant news, the FB is going great.... So great that I think I will hold off on the engine swap for a while and just keep on enjoying driving it the way it is.

Gentlemen,

The time has come. Time to take the FB off the road for a few months and give it a birthday.

Plans are as follows:
Install my new turbo engine which has been sitting around for ages with my new MSD 6AL2 and a full 3" mandrel bent exhaust
Install rebuilt powerglide with shift kit and 3000+RPM histall
Install 28 spline commodore LSD diff and minitub the rear (I aim to fit 235 tyres)
Install new fuel system consisting of Holley blue and half inch lines
Revamp the engine bay with some nice gloss black paint, new RS firewall grommet kit and hidden wiring
Install new headlining plus front and rear screens.
Install thicker front swaybar and new front shockies.
Install a zillion mooneyes accessories which I have acquired over the last few years (including an awsome finned gauge set inc boost gauge )

And I have until 1 August to complete all of this. I will be on uni holidays from Monday so besides a bit of casual work here and there, I will be devoting a lot of time to the FB.
This work is all long overdue however I have been waiting to do it all at once. I figured rather than install the turbo engine and blow the trans and diff, I may as well install a stronger driveline to save downtime. I am also glad that I waited until now to do it as I have enjoyed the cruising season over the last few months. Now that it has started raining, and the yellow sub likes to leak and get wet carpet, it is the perfect time to take it off the road.

Tony at Classic Olden will be handling the diff conversion to retain early Holden stud pattern. I am hoping to handle the rest of it with help from a few mates.
Also, does anyone have access to a hoist which I could use during the process to install my fuel system? I doubt I would need it more than a day. I am happy to tackle the engine swap without a hoist, but bending/installing the fuel lines could be an issue on the floor.
